Cerebral Palsy is a non-progressive neurological disorder that affects children before, during, or after birth, leading to varying levels of musculoskeletal disabilities. At Ambattur Rotary Hospital, we are dedicated to providing specialized rehabilitation to help these children improve mobility, posture, and independence. With over 40% of cases involving additional challenges such as seizures, swallowing difficulties, and communication disorders, early intervention is crucial. Rehabilitation – Advanced Therapy for Improved Mobility
At Ambattur Rotary Hospital, we offer comprehensive rehabilitation services using the latest techniques and equipment, including Therasuit Therapy (introduced for the first time in India), Hydrotherapy, body-weight supported treadmills, and cage suspension therapy.
The Therasuit Method is a groundbreaking therapy that improves posture, coordination, and motor function in children with spasticity. Originally developed for astronauts, this method has proven to enhance fine and gross motor skills in 90% of patients. In our hydrotherapy pool, children receive guided training to strengthen their muscles and enhance mobility.
Totally, around 56 children participate in our rehabilitation program (except Sundays). To ensure their safety, transportation is provided from select points.
Our programs, aim to equip children with essential skills for independent living. We also provide training for parents to continue therapy exercises at home, ensuring long-term benefits.
